Measuring principle
The principle of HARTIP series hardness testers is defined by “the quotient of the impact and rebound velocities of a tungsten carbide impact body”. The harder the material, the closer the rebound speed to the impact speed. The softer the material, the lower the rebound speed.
It’s very simple: place the probe on the surface to be tested, compress the impact body, press the button on the probe and read the value on the device. The measurement is converted directly into the chosen unit system: Brinell, Vickers, Rockwell or Shore. The measurement can be compensated for measurement angles.
Hartip 2000
The HARTIP 2000 portable hardness tester is an innovative Leeb portable hardness tester featuring our new patented technology. There’s no need to define the direction of impact when measuring at any angle. As a result, HARTIP 2000 offers linear accuracy comparable to the angle compensation method. HARTIP 2000 is also a low-cost hardness tester with many other features.
