The UTE-3 visual adaptation scale for ultraviolet (UV-A) radiation examination allows you to determine if the fluorescent brightness of the indications on the examined surface is sufficient, and if it provides a suitable contrast with the surrounding ambient white light. The Visual Acuity Comparator, located on the reverse side, features sentences printed in Jaeger 1 (J1) and Jaeger 2 (J2) characters. The ability to read the appropriate sentence (J1 or J2, depending on the applicable specification) on the examined surface indicates the visual acuity of the inspector under the test illumination conditions.
