Industries & Applications

In addition to the passive dosimeter, which is sent out every month or quarter, the DMC3000s active dosimeter gives you the radiation dose received instantaneously at T0 and T1.   Calibration once a year is imperative     It can either be used on its own (stand-alone mode), or placed on a base (satellite mode) with data retrieval for better operator monitoring. 2 types of pre-alarm and alarm :

  • Received dose alarm
  • Dose rate alarm
  Main features
  • Audible alarm, 85 dB (A), (> 90 dB (C) peak)
  • Vibrating alarm
  • Backlit display for improved visibility
  • Additional beta, neutron and telemetry modules
  • Factory software update
  • Simple 2-button navigation
  • Extensive dose rate alarms
  • Visual alarm with 2 ultra-bright LEDs
  • Excellent gamma and X-ray energy response
  • Meets and exceeds IEC and ANSI standards
  • Rugged design
The DMC 3000 incorporates an enhanced communication protocol offering innovative features. Physical characteristics
  • Complies with IEC 61526Ed. 3 and ANSI 42.20 standards (isotropy Am-241 and Cs-137 with an angle of ± 75°)
  • Measurement and display :
  • Gamma and X-ray energy range: 15 keV to 7 MeV
  • Energy response better than ±20% (typical ±10%) from 16 keV to 7 MeV
  • Accuracy Hp(10): -- ≤ ± 5% (Cs-137, ~ 24 mSv/h) (+ expanded uncertainty k=2 : ± 5% ) ; -- ≤ ± 10%, (Am-241, ~ 23 mSv/h) (+ expanded uncertainty k=2 : ± 5% ) ; -- ≤ ± 10% X-ray 16 keV (+ expanded uncertainty k=2 : ± 9%) ;
  • Display units: mSv, μSv or mrem
  • Displayed dose: from 1 μSv to 10 Sv
  • Displayed dose rate: from 10 μSv/h to 10 Sv/h or 1 μSv/h to 10 Sv/h (extended range option)
  • Measurement range :
  • from 1 μSv to 10 Sv
  • from 0.1 μSv/h to 20 Sv/h
  • Saturation indication above 10 Sv or 10 Sv/h
  • Dose rate linearity :
  • < ± 20% up to 10 Sv/h (Co and X H30 20 keV)
Electrical specifications
  • Standard AAA alkaline battery (LR03) 1.5 V
  • 9 calendar months of standard use (8 hours a day, 5 days a week in "measurement" mode, without excessive alarm)*.
  • 2500 hours of continuous operation, without excessive alarm* (*0.2% of time in alarm)
Mechanical features
  • Robust, impact-resistant ABS-polycarbonate case
  • Dimensions: 87 x 60 x 21 mm max. without clip
  • Weight with alkaline battery and clip: < 88 g
  • Carried with a replaceable clip (2 types of rear clip and one front clip, for securing the DMC inside a pocket)
Environmental features
    • Operating temperature: -10°C to +50°C (response variation less than ± 5%)
    • Relative humidity: < 90% at 42°C
    • Storage: -20°C to +71°C
    • Shock-, vibration- and drop-resistant (1.5 m on concrete)
    • Waterproof to IP67: 1 meter for 1 hour
    • EMC: far exceeds minimum requirements (compliance) -- MIL STD 461F RS103 (Pulsed electromagnetic fields) greater than 200 V/m from 10 kHz to 5 GHz -- MIL STD 461F RS101 (Magnetic fields 30 Hz to 100 kHz)
    • Factory calibration to ISO/CEI 17025, COFRAC accreditation N°2-1663
Histogram characteristics
    • Dose increments with a resolution of 1 μSv are stored in non-volatile memory (EEPROM) at configurable intervals (10 s, 60 s, 10 min., 1 hour, 24 hours).
    • Dose rate is saved at each dose increment using the new communication protocol
    • Events (alarms, faults, modifications) are saved within the selected time period.
    • Input and output data from several consecutive workers (over 1000 measurements) are recorded
Display features
  • Large LCD display with high-quality white backlighting
  • 8-character alpha-numeric display for full name display (scrolling) and fixed display format for dose and flow rate
  • 3 LEDs on top for alarms (red), gamma count (green) and Hp (0.07) or neutron count (blue)
  • 2 push-buttons for easy display of data and parameters
Alarm and communication features
  • Audible alarm with level of 85 dB (A) typical (> 90 dB (C) peak) at 30 cm, frequency < 4800 Hz
  • Vibrating alarm
  • Ultra-bright red flash LED on front panel
  • 3 LED displays on top and indicators on display
  • Dose/rate alarms, adjustable over display range
  • Dose/rate pre-alarms, adjustable and recognizable in display range, acknowledgeable
