Modular and Scalable Scanner

The ROTIX chain scanner is designed to provide circumferential encoded positioning of a probe around a pipe for weld inspection on ferrous or non-ferromagnetic surfaces. It is fully configurable for Phased Array, TOFD, and conventional ultrasound using one or more probes. As the package includes 8 magnetic wheels, this scanner can also be used without the chain as a standard magnetic scanner on ferrous surfaces. Like all STIX series scanners, the Rotix can be adapted to the application's needs. The same accessories can be added: additional probe holders, additional links, etc.

Benefits

Adjustable chain: Using two sizes of links and an adjustable loop, a diameter range from 102.4 mm to 965.2 mm (4-38 in) can be inspected. The links are designed with a clip system for easy addition or removal. Double-wheel chain: The double-wheel chain is designed to straddle the weld cap. This helps to stay centered on the weld, reduce scanner drift, and minimize the overall width. Probe holders: An integrated latch allows easy adjustment of probe positions (e.g., PCS) and quick scanner setup. Thanks to its modular design, most Phased Array and TOFD wedges can be used. Wheels: All wheels are coated with urethane to prevent foreign objects from interfering with the scanner's smooth motion. Urethane also helps avoid lateral slippage, especially for vertical scanning. Braking system: A parking brake locks the scanner in the desired position. Encoder: Encoder wiring ensures compatibility with standard equipment. Environment: Moving parts are sealed with O-rings to prevent contamination.
