Description
Accuracy, simplicity, adaptability and flexibility are the watchwords of the A355, a truly portable, state-of-the-art measuring system with a host of fast, cost-effective features. The key to the A355’s superiority is its measurement system compatible with a range of interchangeable probe modules capable of ±1% reading accuracy on a variety of coatings including ferrous and non-ferrous substrates.
A355 standard
This instrument’s large memory allows you to store up to 5000 readings in a fixed number of predetermined batches, and data can be transferred to a PC, data logger or printer as required. A comprehensive selection of probe modules enables you to choose the right one for your particular application. All modules are supplied with calibration sheets.
Features :
- Accuracy ±1
- RS232 printer/PC output – serial and parallel
- Robust aluminum housing
- Date and time information
- Thickness traceability standard
- Software included
- Memory for 5000 readings in 25 pre-programmed batches
- Full statistical analysis, mean, standard deviation, number of readings, maximum and minimum values
A355 top
Similar to the standard model, but with additional functions and more memory. The device’s larger memory lets you store up to 10,000 measurements in various user-identified batches, and data can be transferred to a PC, data logger or printer as and when you need it.

Modular probes
Modular probes are available for electromagnetic induction and eddy current coating thickness measurements. Electromagnetic induction measurements can be used on ferromagnetic substrates to measure non-ferrous coatings. These coatings can be paints, powders, electroplating, galvanizing, hard chrome, sprayed metal, plastic, epoxy, rubber, etc. on substrates such as steel, ferritic or duplex stainless steels. Eddy current measurements can be used on non-ferromagnetic substrates to measure non-conductive coatings. These coatings can be paints, powders, enamels, anodizing, plastics, epoxies, varnishes, fiberglass, rubber, etc. on metals such as aluminum, copper, brass, austenitic (non-magnetic) stainless steel and similar materials.
General information :
- Operating temperature: 0 to 50°C (32 to 120°F)
- Storage temperature: -10 to 60°C (14 to 140°F)
- Minimum thickness of ferrous substrate > 0.3 mm (l2mils/thou)*.
- Minimum thickness of non-ferrous substrate > 0.1 mm (4 mils/thou)
* two-point calibration (>1 mm for 1% accuracy over the entire probe range)
For measurements on small diameters, we recommend using the T95012880 probe positioning assembly. Full documentation available on request.
