Description

The angle probes are used to generate shear waves at oblique incidence in the controlled material. This control technique is used in particular for inspection of welds. Monoblock translators have the advantage of a better grip and a reduced size of the housing to approach closer to the weld bead.
European Cases

These new angle probes exist in frequency 2 MHz or 4 MHz with angles refracted in the steel of 38 °, 45 °, 60 °, 70 °. The housings are available with LEMO connectors 00 rear output (top exit option). A color coding on the top surface allows a quick recognition of the nominal frequency translator (4MHz: blue; 2MHz: yellow). These translators come with individual characterization sheet specifying the terms of characterization and results: sensitivity, bandwidth, center frequency, etc …

These translators exist piezo-composite version for 4 MHz nominal frequency.
